Summer's Here

Passing along some summer knitting tidbits:

  • Knitting in the Park:  Knitting in the Park takes place at the Dundas Driving Park in Dundas, every Tuesday evening at 6:30pm in the Summer. Enter the park to the right and drive about 3/4 of the way around the oval.  Look for the group near the stairs on the right.  Bring your lawn chair and of course your knitting!
  • The Linus Project coordinator sends a Big Thank You to our Guild for donating 46 blankets since we started these donations!!!!  She is most grateful for everyone's generosity of time, skill and heart and soul.  Thanks so much !!!!
  • Our new executive has been elected for the 2017-2018 year.  Welcome to Lori, (our new Treasurer), and Edith (our new Webmaster). Thank you to Alex for her work as our Treasurer and for becoming our new Programme Chair.  A warm thank you to Nancy (past Secretary),   Jo Ann (past Webmaster) and Michele (past Programming Chair) for their support and service to the Guild.   We currently are looking to fill our Secretary position! 
  • Our next meeting is September 5th, 2017:  Stay tuned for more details!

June 6th Annual General Meeting: Elections, Social Knitting and Silent Auction

This is a reminder that our June meeting will be held on June 6th, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Our meeting location is the Hamilton Mennonite Church, located at 143 Lower Horning, Hamilton The driveway is on the left side and parking and meeting room are at the back.

Our June Annual General Meeting features a Silent Auction, Social Knitting and Elections of our Executive members.  Please consider this volunteer opportunity to work with a great group of fellow knitters and put your name forward for the positions of Secretary, Program Chair and Webmaster for next year's board.  For more information about these positions, please see pages 3 and 4 of the Terms of Reference.  

Members are encouraged to bring any stashed yarns, needles, accessories, pattern books, etc., that they would like to donate to the auction.  The proceeds will be donated to a charity selected by members.  

Here's a handy checklist of what to bring to the meeting:
  • Small bills/change for silent auction purchases
  • Stash items for the silent auction
  • Your current knitting project
  • Knitting projects that you would like to show and share
  • Money for 50-50 Draw tickets
  • Any donations that you have knit for "Knitted Knockers", "Twiddle Muffs", or the "Linus Project"

May 2nd Meeting: Social Knitting


Our May meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 2nd, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Our meeting location is the Hamilton Mennonite Church, located at 143 Lower Horning, Hamilton The driveway is on the left side and parking and meeting room are at the back. Please feel free to bring your own snacks and beverages as they will not be provided.  We will be setting up tables and chairs, so any help would be appreciated!

We will be knitting socially this evening.  Please consider putting your name forward for the positions of Secretary, Program Chair and Webmaster for next year's board.

Here's a handy checklist of what to bring:
  • Money for 50-50 Draw tickets
  • Your knitting projects and any to show-and-tell
  • Any donations that you have knit for the Linus Project, Knitted Knockers or Twiddle Muffs.  Please hold any donations for Out of the Cold until the Fall.
First time guests are welcome to attend one regular meeting without paying a membership fee.
