Donations

Local Initiatives

Charity and Fundraising activities may include, but are not limited to:
  • knitting projects
  • auctions of goods and services donated by, or solicited by members
  • draws for goods and services donated by, or solicited by members
ATBKG members are very generous with their talents and have knit items for local charities including:

Out of the ColdThe Hamilton Out of the Cold Program strives to eliminate hunger in our community, especially during the colder winter months.  They have graciously accepted our donations of hats, mittens, and scarves for those who visit their program.

Project Linus Canada:  Knitted or crocheted "Linus blankets. The Mission of Project Linus Canada is to provide a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized or otherwise in need of a hug, through the gifts of new, handmade, washable blankets, quilts and afghans, lovingly crafted by volunteer "Blanketeers".

Knitted Knockers of Canada:  Knitted Knockers are hand-knit, soft, comfortable prosthetics, made with love by volunteers, for breast cancer survivors.

Twiddle Muffs for People with Dementia:  People suffering from Dementia are often restless and Twiddle Muffs can reduce this restlessness. The idea behind these muffs is that keeping hands occupied provides different types of sensory stimulation...not to mention warmth!  For additional information, visit this website.

Donations may be brought to any Guild meeting.

Other Ideas
